How this is built
What we do
We track funding rounds into Australian companies, and the coverage that follows them. Every entry is a headline, a short summary written by us, and a link to the original. We don't republish other people's articles.
Where the data comes from
Public announcements: VC firms' own posts, company announcements, and the Australian technology press. Software drafts each entry; a person checks it before it appears here. Nothing publishes automatically when money is involved.
What we do with numbers
Round sizes are as announced. Where a figure is an estimate rather than a stated number, we mark it. Valuations are the least reliable figure in venture reporting, so we only show one when the source is named on the page, and we say plainly whether it was confirmed by the company or reported by someone else.
Our crawler
It identifies itself as LedgerBot/0.1 (+https://ledger.25fifteen.com//about/crawler; aggregator, links back to source),
respects robots.txt, and requests pages slowly. If you'd rather we didn't index your site,
email corrections@example.com and we'll remove you.
Getting things fixed
Use the tip form for anything wrong, and email us directly for anything urgent. Changes are logged publicly on the corrections page.
